Hi, my name is Rylee
Hi and welcome! I am so happy to have you here! I’m Rylee, photographer, stylist and recipe developer behind About to Sprout. In a nutshell, I am a lover of all things food. I am a home cook passionate about serving others through hospitality. Food is destined to be joyful, a magnet that draws people together around a table. It is meant to be social, to be an experience and something more than simply just a means to fuel our body.
Here you will find seasonal and approachable real food recipes with some healthy weeknight meals, indulgent and healthyish treats, and cozy comfort food.
But, more than that, I hope to inspire others to use food as a vehicle for not only creating soul satisfying meals, but also a means to build community and create meaningful social experiences. Food is meant to be shared, bringing peopler together cultivating conversation.
My indoctrination into food and hospitality started on day one, and has never let up. I have been heavily influenced -in the best kind of way- by my parents who have been in the food & wine business since the 80’s. I love when they speak about the changes they have seen through the decades as both restaurant and catering owners to now hospitality consultants. I have been surrounded by food all my life, growing up in commercial sized kitchens having the opportunity to eat things most kids won’t ever touch and I feel truly lucky in that way. My passion for food and creating grows stronger everyday and I am so lucky I get to call this my job.
I hope that the recipes and stories I share on About to Sprout stir something in you and get you stirring up one of my recipes soon!
I’d love to hear from you and am available for brand and blogger freelance food photography, recipe development and sponsored posts. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info!

When did you start About to Sprout?
I didn’t officially start the blog until the beginning of 2018. Before, I had an Instagram account for a couple months where I shared photos of the food I was cooking, baking and testing for my family.
Do you take your own photos?
YES! I took photography courses in school and had a basic knowledge of how to operate a camera. It wasn’t until I started my website that I developed a huge passion for food photography. I downloaded Lightroom, watched thousands of youtube videos on both my camera and editing and continue to practice daily. I am always learning and strive to provide the best possible photos that will make your mouth water. Fun fact: when I was in high school, I wanted to be a fashion photographer and interned with Talbots Magazine in NY! Hard no to fashion photography.
Do you work with brands?
YES! I collaborate with brands that I know and love. If you are interested in working together, please send me an email at email@example.com for more info.
