These vegan and gluten free chocolate peanut butter fat balls, energy bites will satisfy you when you're craving something sweet or need some fuel!
Chocolate and peanut butter, such a dynamic, amazing, fantastic duo and these gems are filled with all of the greats and essential nutrients for the body.
No, not just chocolate and peanut butter, even though they are absolutely wonderful. I am talking about brazil nuts, flax seeds, cacao powder and even hemp seeds if you decide to either throw it in to your batter or roll your balls in them!

Brazil nuts produce selenium, this plays a big role for your body because it increases your body's antioxidant capabilities and the quality of your blood flow, which helps fight inflammation, disease and stress within your body. Some other great ways to get selenium into the body is through eggs, sunflower seeds and liver meats (still working on how I feels about this, but I'll try anything once!)
Flaxseeds contain Omega-3 fatty acids, or as most know it as "the good fat". Omega-3's have heart health benefits, tons of fiber and can help fight inflammation in the body.
Hemp seeds contain tons of plant-based protein, are rich in healthy fats, helps you to feel fuller longer and is very high in fiber. Hemp seeds help feed the probiotics in your gut (second largest organ in the bod) to help keep you regular ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why use cacao vs. cocoa? Though they start from the same place, they are processed very differently. Once cacao beans are harvested they are heated at a very low temperature, retaining its essential nutrients, antioxidant powers and health benefits. This way of heating leaves it much less processed than cocoa. Cocoa is heated at a MUCH higher temperature, which completely changes their structure and strips it of its nutrients. Heavy processing is what determines the difference between cacao and cocoa and its not that cocoa is bad for us, but its nutritional content dissipates once it becomes so heavily processed.
I love these fat ball, energy bits because they are gluten free, vegan and can easily be made paleo without using the oats! They are seriously the best energy boosting snack!
